Spring Break Camp forms went out last week and no one has turned them in yet!
They are due next week, March 7th, so hurry!
Spring break will be held here at Loomis. Feel free to call or email if you have any questions.
You may have noticed that everythng is different in the classroom. It may have started with being redirected to the new parent board, but doublessly you noticed that virtually everythng was moved. Your children requested that somethings be “refreshed” and we listened. In fact we took it to heart and changed everything that we could, while also taking into account what the children wanted.
They got to choose what types of new enrichments we are offering and the different bullitin boards that are going up. Please take some time to appriciate thier ideas and ask them how some of these things came to be. You might find that it was your student’s idea! Also take some time to ask them about the new enrichments. We are trying as hard as we can to plan activities where the children can interact with the matrerial as directly as possible.
For example, last week in “How Machines Work” students learned how a lever works. They then got to experiment with levers to produce a variety of results. One of our K-STARs was able to lift the entire ball bin with almost no effort. Several kids also were able to balence each other out on a lever by moving closer or further from the fulcrum. The best part was seeing thier smiling faces as they had such a great time, while learning an important physics concept.
Till next time.
“…Time may change me, but I can’t trace time…”
